In order to carry out this complex calculation of the civil hours, three corrections had to be taken into account:

-         the one for the timezone of Aiello, corresponding to 6 minutes and 37 seconds. This is the time taken by the rotation of the Earth from the first Eastern Meridian, the reference for Italy (15° east of Greenwich), which at this latitude passes by Ljubljana.

-         the so called “Time Correction”, which takes into account the different velocity of the Earth during its annual orbit around the sun.

-         Obviously the quadrant also indicates the daylight saving time, to be considered when it is in use.
