The gnomonic complex made on a 5 meter diameter base, consists of a spherical sundial of Istrian stone, embellished with seven smaller spheres which symbolize the seven Ptolemaic planets known to humanity from antiquity until XV century.

All the continents of the globe were precisely reproduced on the sphere, subdivided into 24 meridians of 15° each, equal to the passing of one hour of the solar time.
